In Karachi, a power outage hit the Dhabeji pumping station on Monday, resulting in disruptions to the city's water supply.
This pumping station, responsible for providing water to Karachi, experienced a power failure, potentially leading to a water shortage for the city's residents. The Water Corporation spokesperson explained that the 72-inch diameter line, known as line number 5, was impacted by this power outage.
Water corporation officials are currently on-site, conducting a comprehensive inspection of the affected line to determine the root cause of the issue. The chief engineer of Bulkwater Corporation has confirmed that efforts are actively underway to restore the affected line, aiming to minimize any inconvenience caused to the city's residents due to the disruption in water supply.
Furthermore, the chief engineer mentioned that the city's water supply has been temporarily redirected through alternative lines while the necessary repair work is carried out on the affected line.
