ISLAMABAD - Inspector General of Islamabad Police faces embarrassment as his official vehicle has been subjected to a theft in Islamabad.
His official pistol and documents belonging to Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Sultan Azam Temuri were stolen, media has reported.
The matter regarding the theft of the pistol and documents was reported to the police headquarters on Friday, after which an inquiry was launched.
Sources claimed that the stolen pistol was issued to the IG’s gunman and was not the top official’s personal weapon.
Valuables were also stolen from the car while it was parked at the IG’s official residence in Sector F-7.
According to a source, “The incident perhaps took place last week but was reported on Friday. The matter is under inquiry.”
The top police official’s staffers were also questioned by the police.
