ISLAMABAD: (APP) Balloki Combined Cycle Power Plant will start adding 386.5 MW of electricity to the national grid by August next year in the first phase.
According to Radio Pakistan, the under-construction 1223 MW power plant, having latest and environment friendly gas turbine technology, will start operating on full capacity in the beginning of 2018.
The plant could be operated on both gas and diesel; however, Re-gasified Liquefied Natural Gas (RLNG) would be its prime fuel.
It will generate maximum electricity with minimum fuel consumption due to use of fuel-efficient technology.
Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited is laying the pipeline to supply RLNG to the plant site and the project would be completed soon.
Balloki Power project which is a joint venture of two companies from China and Pakistan is an excellent example of time-tested Pakistan-China friendship.
