PTI leader Usman Dar said that there were two groups within the PTI. One group wanted reconciliation, while the other group wanted confrontation with state institutions, and Imran Khan supported the latter group.
Speaking on the "On the Front with Kamran Shahid" program on Dunya News, Usman Dar said, "The May 9 incident did not happen overnight. There were two groups within the PTI. One group believed in a confrontational policy, and Imran Khan supported this approach. The other group advocated for reconciliation."
It should be noted that Usman Dar had been missing for several weeks, and PTI had claimed that he was arrested in Karachi. However, Usman Dar stated that he had gone into hiding voluntarily.
He further mentioned, "I have decided to leave PTI and politics." He also stated that "PTI Chairman had undertaken mental conditioning of workers to avoid arrests. This process started, and the statement of the group wanting confrontation was released. Imran Khan also supported this."
He said, "Workers were called to Zaman Park to stop Imran Khan's arrest. Murad Saeed, Azam Swati, and people like them wanted confrontation. Workers were in Zaman Park as a human shield. Workers' conditioning was such that we did not let Imran Khan get arrested."
When asked if the purpose of the Long March was to stop General Asim Munir's appointment, he responded, "Yes, the purpose of the Long March was to stop General Asim Munir's appointment. Perhaps Imran Khan had support from within the army as well."
