ISLAMABAD: Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Shaikh Aftab Ahmed on Wednesday said the government is providing maximum relief in electricity tariff to consumers.
He was responding to a Calling Attention Notice in the National Assembly regarding proposal to increase the electricity tariff by Rs 3.90 per unit. The minister said that no such proposal is under consideration as tariff has been increased only Rs 0.48 per unit.
He said that presently the government is giving subsidy on electricity tariff to general consumers. "This is our effort to minimize the price of electricity and very less burden is being imposed on general public"he added.
