Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) took action on Friday by sending a summary to caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar. This summary aimed to solicit his views regarding the future of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee Chairman, Zaka Ashraf.

Zaka Ashraf had been leading the management committee since its appointment in July, with a tenure set to conclude tomorrow. It was in this context that the Ministry sought the input of the prime minister, who is expected to express his stance on matters related to the PCB today.

In a separate development on Thursday, former Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi engaged in a meeting with Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar.

The discussion encompassed various aspects of Pakistan's cricket landscape. Afridi, a former national team captain, shared his valuable insights and recommendations to enhance the state of the game within the country.

It's noteworthy that Prime Minister Kakar encouraged Afridi to actively participate in efforts aimed at improving cricket, particularly focusing on matters related to its development.

Previously, in an interview with ARY News, Zaka Ashraf expressed his understanding that the prime minister holds the authority to decide whether he remains as the PCB chief or not.

Despite this uncertainty, he highlighted his commitment to maintaining the reputation of the Pakistani cricket team. Ashraf also emphasized the need for any appointment or dismissal to be conducted with honor, in order to safeguard the reputation of the board, and stressed the importance of working together for the betterment of cricket, setting aside differences.
