Navy starts mangroves plantation campaign

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Navy on Thursday kicked off mangroves plantation campaign in Sindh-Balochistan coastal belt.

In this connection, an inaugural ceremony was held at Shah Bander. Chief of Naval Stafff Admiral Zafar Mehmood Abassi was the chief guest on the occasion.

Addressing the ceremony, he said Pakistan Navy’s mangroves plantation campaign will play an important role in conserving coastal belt and projecting its importance.

A Pakistan Navy spokesman said two million mangroves will be planted during the campaign. APP/AFP
