PTI Government planned huge network of 6,147 kilometres of motorways across Pakistan

Communication Minister Murad Saeed has said the PTI government has planned to build 6,147 kilometer long network of motorways and highways across Pakistan.

Addressing a ceremony in Islamabad on Monday, he said 2,000 kilometers long roads were built in last five month, whereas Prime Minister Imran Khan's government has envisioned over 4,000 kilomters long projects more than the previous government had built.

The Minister said 1,600 kilometers long projects have been executed in last two years; besides initiating work on the Western Route of China Pakistan Economic Corridor. He said 60 percent work on Khuzdar-Basima road has been completed, while Hoshab-Awaran and Ratto Dero-Shikarpur Roads have been inaugurated. He said Darra Adamkhel project is nearing completion.

Murad Saeed said ground breaking of Quetta Bypass and Dera Murad Jamali Bypass will be performed this month. He said these projects are being completed at a cost of billions of rupees. He said Naukand-Mashkhel, Ziarat-Harnai, and Harnai-Sanjavi, Shikarpur-Rajanpur, and other projects will be started in next three months.

The Minister said ground breaking of 300 kilometers long Hyderabad-Sukkur motorway will be performed in April this year. He also announced to construct Sialkot-Kharian-Rawalpindi motorway. He said 796 kilomters long Chaman-Quetta-Karachi highway will be constructed in Public Private Partnership mode.

Murad Saeed said second phase of Sawat Motorway as well as Peshawar-Dera Ismail Khan, and Dir-Chitral motorways will be constructed. He said the government is committed to bring backward areas at par with other parts of the country for the utmost facilitation of the people.
