LAHORE: Chairman PCB Sheharyar Khan announces decision about Shahid Afridi.
Sheharyar Khan said Shahid Khan Afridi has rendered his resignation from Pakistan Cricket team captaincy by himself and has showed his desire to play further for Pakistan.
If he wants to play and can play good cricket for Pakistan, he could do so; he further added.
Chairman made it clear that Afridi can continue his career but new selection committee will decide on merit about the inclusion of Afridi in T20 team.
Earlier, Shahid Khan Afridi announced to leave captaincy of T20 cricket team due to poor performance in Asia Cup and T20 World saying that he would play in T20 team as player.
Shahid Afridi said in his tweet message that it is his own decision to relinquish the captaincy because he could not further continue to lead T20 cricket team.
Afridi further added that it is an honour for him to lead Pakistan Cricket team in all three formats. He also thanked PCB Chairman Sheharyar Khan for giving him this honour to lead national team.
Afridi vowed to continue the game as a player saying that he would be available as a player for team. Former captain also requested to his fans to keep praying and supporting him for best future performances for Pakistan.
