ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday evening hosted a statedinner at Aiwan-e-Sadr in honour of the visiting President of Kyrgyzstan,Sadyr Japarov, who is in Pakistan on an official visit.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff General Syed AsimMunir were among the prominent attendees at the formal dinner. Federalministers, senior civil and military officials, members of the diplomaticcorps and ambassadors of several countries were also present at the event.The arrival of guests continued as the dinner progressed in a cordialatmosphere.
Earlier, President Zardari held separate meetings with General Asim Munirand Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the presidency. Sources described themeetings as routine and focused on matters of national importance.
While interacting informally with media personnel present at Aiwan-e-Sadr,the Army Chief appeared in high spirits. When asked about the currentsituation, General Munir replied confidently, “Everything is fine;everything is in front of you.” He added that matters were moving in theright direction and expressed strong optimism about the country’s future.
“Things are improving. From here, Pakistan will now take a higher flight,”the Army Chief remarked, signalling renewed determination for progress andstability.
The state dinner for the Kyrgyz president underscores the growing bilateralties between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan, particularly in trade, energy andregional connectivity. The visit is expected to further strengthencooperation under multilateral frameworks including the ShanghaiCooperation Organisation.
The presence of the country’s top civil and military leadership at oneplatform reflects unity of command and shared commitment towards nationalobjectives at a time when Pakistan is navigating economic recovery andenhanced regional engagement.
