Daesh claims responsibility for attack on Pakistani embassy in Kabul

ISLAMABAD – The Islamic State (IS), also known as Daesh, on Sunday claimedresponsibility for an attack on Pakistan’s embassy in Kabul.

Pakistan’s embassy in the Afghan capital came under attack amid alreadyheightened tensions over security issues between two neighboring countries.

The terror group issued a statement, confirming attack on the apostatePakistani ambassador and his guards. Two of the members armed with mediumand sniper weapons targeted the ambassador and his guards who were presentin the courtyard of the embassy, Daesh announced.

It further mentioned that the attack injured at least one guard and causeddamage to the building.

Head of Mission Ubaidur Rehman Nizamani was attacked during his routineafternoon walk inside the embassy compound when assailants opened fire onhim from a nearby building. He escaped unhurt, but his security guard washit in the chest by three bullets, sources added.
