Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has declined to assume any rolewithin the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee. This decisionfollowed a meeting between Afridi and Zada Ashraf, the chairman of the PCBManagement Committee in Lahore on a Friday.
The primary topic of discussion during their encounter at the QaddafiStadium Lahore was the current performance of the national cricket team.Notably, Afridi did not engage with the media and left the stadium withoutmaking any statements.
Within the course of their meeting, Ashraf conveyed his admiration forAfridi’s dedication and contributions to the sport. The PCB issued astatement highlighting Ashraf’s words:
“We admire you as a hero of Pakistan, and you have proved to be a greatambassador of the country with both your exceptional talent displayed onthe field and your conduct off the field. We would love to have yourexperience for the betterment of Pakistan cricket.”
Afridi, a former all-rounder, expressed his interest in nurturing youngcricketers to become future stars and positive representatives of Pakistancricket. He also took the opportunity to acknowledge and commend Ashraf’sefforts and contributions to Pakistan cricket.
