The Supreme Court of Pakistan has provided Chairman of the PakistanTehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan with an opportunity to appear in court inthe NAB (National Accountability Bureau) reference case.
The Supreme Court issued a written order for the hearing scheduled forOctober 31 in the NAB reference case, stating that Imran Khan is a centralapplicant in the NAB references, and the court serves notices to allparties.
The order also mentioned that the court’s verdict should be conveyed to the PTI Chairman if he wishes to appear in court, then relevant preparationsare ro be made by jail superintendent, noting that the NAB appeal againstthe decision of the trial court is subject to detailed proceedings in theSupreme Court.
It should be noted that Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Gulzar Ahmed leda five-member larger bench in the hearing of the NAB reference case onOctober 31.
The Supreme Court conducted the hearing of NAB courts’ references, puttinga halt to the proceedings of pending cases, while the federal government’sappeal in the inter-court appeal was under consideration.
