ISLAMABAD -Yet another feather in the cap of the Pakistani new SkipperBabar Azam.
Australia’s wicketkeeper and vice-captain Alex Carey has praised Babar Azamafter his classy half-century in the first T20I between Australia andPakistan.
The top seed batsman in the shortest format of the game led the team fromthe front and made 59 from just 38 balls.
Speaking to reporters at match conference, Carey said:
Hopefully we can get him [Babar Azam] out early but he has shown why he isthe number one in the world in this format for a reason and again today hewas really classy for them.
He then backed the Australian bowlers to neutralize the threat of BabarAzam in the coming matches.
It would be nice to get into their middle-order early and Starc and Richo[Kane Richardson] have the weapons to do that. Conditions in Canberra canbe different and the same for Perth. So we are excited for the next twogames ahead and hopefully we don’t have to worry about one player inparticular.
