TEHRAN – The production line of the first domestically-built militaryaircraft Kowsar was opened on Saturday with the attendance of Commander ofIran’s Army Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi on Saturday.

Iranian Minister of Defense, Brigadier-General Amir Hatami; Commander ofIranian Army Air Force, Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh; Head of IranAviation Industries Organization, Abdolkarim Banitarafi were present at theopening ceremony .

Manufacturing Kowsar which is a short-range air support aircraft has putIran among the few countries with the technology of designing and producingthe 4th generation avionics and fire control systems.

The aircraft will be produced in both single- and two-seat versions and isable to be used in advanced pilot training courses in addition to militarypurposes. – APP/AFP
