The decision for Mohammad Rizwan’s alternate wicket-keeper has been made incase of any injury or non participation in any match. According to thedetails, during the World Cup, in case of Rizwan’s absence in any match,the senior batsman will take up the wicket-keeping duties.
During the warm-up match between Pakistan and Australia in the World Cup,the commentary panel announced that if, for any reason, Mohammad Rizwancannot participate in a match during the tournament, then Imam-ul-Haq willtake over the wicket-keeping responsibilities.
It should be noted that the announced squad for Pakistan includes BabarAzam (Captain), Shadab Khan (Vice-Captain), Abdullah Shafique, FakharZaman, Haris Rauf, Hasan Ali, Iftikhar Ahmed, Imam-ul-Haq, Mohammad Nawaz,Mohammad Rizwan (Wicket-Keeper), Wasim Jr., Saud Shakeel, Salman Ali Agha,Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Osama Mir.
In the reserve players, Muhammad Haris, Abrar Ahmed, and Zaman Khan areincluded. Reserve players can become part of the 15-member squad if anymember of the announced 15-member squad is unable to participate in theentire tournament.
Remember, Pakistan’s team will kick off their tournament campaign onOctober 6th, facing the Netherlands, which has qualified for the ICCCricket World Cup for the fifth time. The most anticipated match of thetournament will be played on October 14th when India and Pakistan clash inAhmedabad. Pakistan has not yet achieved success against India in any ICCCricket World Cup, making it a challenging task for Babar Azam and his team.
Furthermore, the Indian team appears confident in continuing their winningstreak against Pakistan in the upcoming mega event.
