Holy Mosque in Makkah opens for the Umrah Pilgrims

The Grand Mosque in Makkah was opened for Umrah pilgrims on Sunday.

The first group of pilgrims performing Umrah in first phase enteredMasjid-al Haram under strict precautionary and preventive measures to checkspread of coronavirus.

To accommodate a quota of 6,000 pilgrims per day, the Ministry of Hajj andUmrah of Saudi Arabia has prepared five meeting points where pilgrims willmeet and join health professionals on buses to the Grand Mosque.

Thermal cameras are installed at the entrances and inside halls of theGrand Mosque to monitor body temperature spikes and issue alerts ifnecessary.

About 1,000 employees have also been trained to monitor the rituals ofUmrah in the Grand Mosque.
