ISLAMABAD – Prominent US daily the New York Times says the United Nationscannot ignore Kashmir anymore.
The paper in its editorial terms absurd the claim by Indian Prime MinisterNarendra Modi that revocation of occupied Kashmir’s special status meantthat the people there have got equal rights with other Indians, pointingout that the disputed state was under martial law.
The paper says Modi’s clampdown on Kashmir would only make life moremiserable for Kashmiris and will heighten tensions in the region.
