Senior PTI member survives fatal attack

On Monday, Khalid Khurshid Khan, the former chief minister ofGilgit-Baltistan (GB) and also the president of PTI in GB, narrowly escapedan attack in the Astore area.

He was en route to participate in a by-election campaign when he and hiscolleagues were ambushed and shot at in the Chowgam area of AstoreDistrict, as reported by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on their officialplatform, X (formerly Twitter). Fortunately, Khan and his companionsemerged unharmed from the incident. PTI strongly condemned the attack andcalled for the immediate apprehension of those responsible.

The party also issued a stern warning, holding the government responsiblefor any harm inflicted upon PTI members, including Khalid Khurshid Khan.Additionally, Farrukh Habib, PTI’s president in West Punjab, revealed thatthe security detail for the former chief minister had been removed a fewdays prior to the attack.
