The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) selection committee has initiatedpreliminary consultations for the World Cup squad and has reached anagreement to include the middle-order batsman Saud Shakeel as part of the15-member squad. It is claimed that the World Cup squad may feature playerssuch as Captain Babar Azam, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Rizwan, Fakhar Zaman,Imam-ul-Haq, Saud Shakeel, Agha Salman, Iftikhar Ahmed, and Mohammad Nawaz.
The ICC Cricket World Cup Trophy is scheduled to be held on September 5thin Pakistan. Additionally, there is a possibility that players like UsamaMir, Haris Rauf, Naseem Shah, Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Haris, and WasimJunior may also be included in the World Cup squad.
The announcement of the 15-member squads for the ICC Cricket World Cup isexpected to be made by September 5th, while teams can make changes to theirsquads without ICC approval until September 28th.
After September 28th, any changes to the squads will require ICC’sapproval. It is worth noting that the announcement of Pakistan’s World Cupsquad is recommended to occur after the conclusion of the Asia Cup, whilethe initial squad names are to be sent to the ICC by PCB by September 5th
