The Lahore High Court has ordered the Inspector General of Islamabad Policeto produce Pervez Elahi in court tomorrow, despite the fact that he was notbrought to court from Adiala Jail despite a court order.
During the hearing, DIG Security Kamran Adil appeared in the Lahore HighCourt. Justice Amjad Rafique remarked that you are not familiar with thedetails of this case, to which the DIG said there was confusion about whothe court had requested.
The Lahore High Court has instructed various officers, including the IGPunjab Police, CCPO Lahore, DIG Operations, and DIG Investigation, toappear in court by 2 o’clock. Attorney General Punjab Khalid Ishaq and IGPunjab Dr. Usman Anwar also appeared in the Lahore High Court, where thecourt asked, “Where is IG, DIG Operations, and DIG Investigation?” To whichthe IG replied that DIG Operations and DIG Investigation are in Karachi.
Justice Amjad Rafique said, “Your purpose is to bring the facts to light.Islamabad Police can tell us about Pervez Elahi’s whereabouts at themoment.” Justice Amjad Rafique said, “I have been sitting here for morethan two years, and you know my work. Saying that I have become personal isvery unfortunate.”
The court asked, “Where is Pervez Elahi at the moment?” IG Punjab repliedthat Pervez Elahi had been kept in Adiala Jail, so the court is hearingthis case. The court asked Pervez Elahi’s lawyer Latif Khosa, “You are alsoa witness in this case, right?” He replied, “Yes, I have been staying inone or two cases before.” Latif Khosa also mentioned Zahoor Elahi’s case.Latif Khosa said that the IG Punjab had said that he did not know wherePervez Elahi was, which is a clear lie.
The IG Punjab said that he is sorry for Mr. Khosa’s comment; we reallydon’t know. Upon this, Justice Rafique said, “IG Sahib! Mr. Khosa did notuse any unparliamentary language. If someone is called an animal here, theyget upset, but if they are called a lion somewhere, they are pleased.”

Latif Khosa stated that Pervez Elahi kept insisting, “Show me a warrant;no one speaks lies now; the camera’s eye shows everything.”
Subsequently, Justice Amjad Rafique issued a contempt of court notice tothe IG Islamabad and ordered the District and Session Judge to bring PervezElahi from Adiala Jail to the court tomorrow.
The court also ordered the DIG Operations and DIG Investigation to appearin court on Friday.
