KP Minister held important meeting with US Consul General

Caretaker Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muhammad Azam Khan, engaged ina meeting with the newly appointed US Consul General, Shante Moore, inPeshawar on September 4th. The discussions during this meeting revolvedaround shared interests and matters concerning collaboration between theprovincial government and United States’ development agencies acrossvarious sectors.

Muhammad Azam Khan underlined the significance of cooperation between theKP provincial government and the US government and its agencies in varioussectors. He emphasized the commitment of the US government to strengtheningties with the province. The chief minister stressed the imperative ofenhancing cooperation with friendly nations and donor agencies in thetribal areas, which have faced prolonged development challenges.

Furthermore, he highlighted the critical need to focus on constructingessential infrastructure, particularly road development, in these regionsthat have been affected by years of conflict. Enhancing the policeinfrastructure in the merged districts was also identified as crucial toensuring peace and security.

The promotion of girls’ education was outlined as a top priority for theprovincial government by the chief minister. He expressed a warm welcome toAmerican cooperation in these priority areas, offering any necessaryassistance.

Shante Moore, the US Consul General, reassured the commitment of the USgovernment to continue working closely with the provincial government andthe public to advance public welfare. Additionally, he mentioned the USgovernment’s interest in preserving the province’s ancient historicalbuildings and cultural heritage.
