In Liaqatpur, a drug inspector and his assistant have been accused oftargeting a woman for apparent harassment, prompting the affected woman tofile a case against the culprits. According to the FIR (First InformationReport), Dr. Irfan and his assistant Nazuk allegedly singled out a womannamed Balqees for harassment at an obvious point.
Balqees, along with her daughter Rabia Munir, operates a clinic named”Gulshan Fareed” in the area. The clinic remained open after thegovernment’s imposed lockdown following the COVID-19 pandemic.
The drug inspector reportedly visited Balqees at her residence withoutprior notice and allegedly subjected her to harassment. An audio recordingof the drug inspector’s assistant Nazuk making threats to Balqees’s husbandbecame public, leading to the Health Department launching an inquiry inresponse to Balqees’s complaint.
Subsequently, the Chemist Association called for a strike in protest of theFIR filed against the drug inspector, and his contact number wastemporarily disconnected.
