The PML-N leadership has been assigned the responsibility of welcomingNawaz Sharif, who is scheduled to arrive in Lahore from London on October15 via a private airline flight, as per insider sources. Maryam Nawaz hastaken charge of the preparations for organizing a party gathering tocelebrate Sharif’s return to the country. Additionally, party leaders havebeen given clear instructions to ensure maximum worker participation inthis gathering.
It is worth noting that PML-N leaders had consistently stated that Sharifwould only return to Pakistan when the perceived risks were reduced tozero, particularly concerning legal complications. Khawaja Asif of thePML-N expressed this sentiment in an interview with Geo News on Aaj ShahzebKhanzada Kay Sath on August 15. He emphasized their desire to prevent anyscore-settling or unfavorable judicial decisions and reiterated that Sharifwould return once all risks against him were eliminated.
Columnist Javed Chaudhry echoed similar views during an interview with AajNews on August 4. He stated that Sharif was awaiting September 16, possiblyhoping for more favorable conditions following the retirement of thecurrent Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Umar Ata Bandial. However,Chaudhry expressed doubt that Sharif would return even after September 16,indicating Sharif’s desire for apologies from both the judiciary and theestablishment.
