ANF seize narcotics worth over 112 million

In a coordinated intelligence-driven operation conducted on Monday, thePakistan Navy (PN) and the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) successfullyapprehended narcotics valued at $112 million from a fishing vessel. Thisjoint operation not only resulted in the confiscation of 9.5 tonnes ofnarcotics but also the interception and seizure of 10,000 bottles of liquorby the combined efforts of these security forces.

The contraband substances were cleverly concealed within hiddencompartments of the fishing boat, which had been intercepted by a PNvessel. Subsequently, the confiscated narcotics have been transferred tothe custody of the ANF for further legal proceedings.

Furthermore, in a recent development, the Sindh Rangers, according to astatement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), detainedsix Indian smugglers within Pakistani territory. This operation took placebetween July 29 and August 3, with four of the apprehended smugglershailing from Ferozpur and two from Jalandhar and Ludhiana, respectively.

The ISPR statement conveyed the expectation that security forces inPakistan would maintain their vigilance and urged the Indian BorderSecurity Force (BSF) to act professionally, severing any connections withsmuggling operations operating from their territory. The ISPR alsohighlighted concerns about the potential complicity of BSF troops insmuggling narcotics and weapons, emphasizing their surprise at the BSF’sfailure to report the six missing citizens.
