Russia emerges as a deal broker between Chinese and Indian military stand-off

Moscow: A high-level meeting is expected between the defence ministers ofIndia and China to hold talks in Moscow regarding dispute at Himalayanborder.

This would be the highest level face-to-face political contact sincetensions boiled at the disputed border in May.

Army deployment along the border, which runs through the western Himalayas,by both countries has been increased following a deadly clash in June when20 Indian soldiers were killed in hand-to-hand- fighting.

Both Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and his Chinese counterpart WeiFenghe are currently in Moscow to attend a Shanghai CooperationOrganisation meeting.

Sindh has been allowed to hold the meeting after China requested for it,reported international media.

Earlier this week, China accused Indian troops of seriously violating itsterritorial sovereignty at Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Laddakh region.

The Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson said that the Indian operationstaged on Monday is clear violation of agreement between both countries.
