NEW DELHI – India issues Red Corner Notices against Hafiz Saeed, MasoodAzhar and Lakhvi and Dawood Ibrahim declaring them as terrorists.
Dawood Ibrahim, Hafiz Saeed and Zakir-ur-Rahman Lakhvi and Masood Azhar,have been declared terrorists by the Union government under the newanti-terror law.
Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar and Lashkar-e-Taiba founder HafizMuhammad Saeed were on Wednesday declared individual terrorists by thegovernment under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Amendment Act, 1967.
The decisions have been taken nearly a month after Parliament approved acrucial amendment to the UAPA law.
According to the amendments in the UAPA Act, individuals can be declared asterrorists. Earlier, only groups or organisations could be declared asterrorists.”And whereas, the central government believes that Maulana Masood
Azhar is involved in terrorism and Maulana Masood Azhar is to be notifiedas a terrorist under the said Act. And whereas, the central governmentbelieves that Hafiz Muhammad Saeed is involved in terrorism and HafizMuhammad Saeed is to be notified as a terrorist under the said Act,” a homeministry notification said.
The government has issued red corner notices against all four terrorists.
