The rescue flight to repatriate 300 Pakistanis stranded in China cancelled

ISLAMABAD – The rescue flight to repatriate over 300 Pakistanis strandedin China was cancelled over conflict between Shaheen Air International andCivil Aviation Authority (CAA).

The flight was supposed to fly to Guangzhou Friday to bring back Pakistanipassengers. Shaheen Air International has claimed that its flight bearingnumber NL 892 was stopped by Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) on technicalgrounds.

The Shaheen Air officical said that they were implementing on the orders ofSupreme Court, adding that CAA raised a technical issue with the aircrafton the last minute.

He further said that now contacting with other charter carrier companiesand without the support of CAA, the company will bear the expenses on itsown to bring back Pakistani passengers.

Over 300 Pakistanis, stranded in Chinese city of Guangzhou, have appealedto the Pakistani government to help them after their flight was canceled onJuly 29.
