*LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Lahore has arrested a youthallegedly involved in harassing a girl on the social media.*

According to the FIA spokesman, the man named Asadullah Khan had filed acomplaint that a person namely Shahroz was blackmailing his daughter usingher obscene images and videos made by him.

Reaction on the complaint, the FIA team conducted a raid and apprehendedthe accused. The team also recovered obnoxious material from his mobilephone.

A case has been registered against the accused.

The FIA has been taking action against people using social media to harassfemales for the purpose to black mail them.

In July this year, the Senate Standing Committee on Interior had directedthe FIA to take action against those who exploit social media for wrongpropaganda, mislead nation and use abusive language against the opponents.

Chairing a meeting here, Senator Rehman Malik said social media has becomea necessity of time and gained importance worldwide.
