The committee, in protest, deferred its approval for the passage ofgovernment bills, including the Foreign Exchange Regulation Amendment Bill,2019, Anti Money Laundering Amendment Bill, 2019, and Asset DeclarationOrdinance, 2019.
“We are postponing the passage of all government bills,” remarked AsadUmar. “If the government is not serious about these bills, then they shouldat least take us (committee members) seriously,” he said.

The committee members in attendance expressed grave concern over the risinginflation and requested a briefing on the increase in prices of cement, flour, sugar and airline tickets.
Umar expressed frustration over the fact that “there are billions ofdollars stashed abroad which are not being brought back to the country,”and that “despite not wanting to, the government has been forced to placean additional burden on the people”.
