Shawwal Moon sighted in Pakistan, Eid ul Fitr on Wednesday June 05

ISLAMABAD – Eidul Fitr will fall on Wednesday (tomorrow) as Shawwal moonhas been sighted, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee announced on Tuesday.

The decision was announced by Mufti Muneebur Rehman, who chaired the moonsighting meeting of the committee in Karachi.

Eidul Fitr marks the culmination of the holy month of Ramazan, during whichMuslims all over the world observe 29 to 30 days of fasting.

Last month, the federal government had announced that according topredictions of the meteorological department, the Shawwal crescent will besighted on June 4 and Eid will be celebrated the following day.

On the other hand, the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) government is celebratingEid today (Tuesday).
