PM Imran Khan orders indiscriminate crackdown across Pakistan

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday hinted at launching acrackdown against the tax evaders after June 30.

While chairing a meeting of government’s economic team in Islamabad, thepremier said that there would be no concessions for individuals notavailing the tax amnesty scheme.

According to details, the members discussed points of the upcoming budgetthat will be presented on June 11 while the premier was also briefed overthe Amnesty Scheme.

During the meeting, Imran Khan hinted at launching crackdown against thetax evaders after June 30. He said that the institutions are with thegovernment in the accountability process.

The meeting was also attended by Adviser to the Prime Minister on FinanceHafeez Shaikh, Minister of State for Revenue Hammad Azhar, Federal Board ofRevenue (FBR) chairman Shabbar Zaidi and others.
