The United Nations has expressed disquiet over the Hindu-Muslim clashes inIndian city of Jodhpur on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
Responding to a question during his regular briefing in New York, Deputyspokesperson for UN Secretary-General, Farhan Aziz Haq, said the Indiangovernment and security forces should ensure that everyone go about theiractivities, including their celebratory activities.
Earlier, curfew was imposed in various areas of Jodhpur and mobile internetservices were suspended as communal tension mounted in the city after Hinduextremists stopped Muslims from hoisting a flag on Eid-ul-Fitr.
