The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Pakistan, Atadjan Movlamov, called on theFederal Minister for Energy, Muhammad Hammad Azhar, to discuss theTurkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project.
The Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Power and Petroleum (SAPM),Tabish Guhar, also attended the meeting.——————————
Minister Azhar reiterated Pakistan’s strong desire to improve the bilateralrelations between the two brotherly countries. He said that naturalresources, including natural gas from Turkmenistan, need to be explored forthe mutual benefit of both countries, and expressed his satisfaction withthe progress on the TAPI pipeline.
He also underscored the need for all the details of the gas transportationand supply agreements to be worked out to mutually benefit all thecountries involved, and voiced a strong desire for and full commitment tothe early completion and materialization of the project.——————————
Ambassador Movlamov apprised the minister and SAPM about the salientfeatures of the project and the progress made by Turkmenistan.
He informed them that the Herat Office strategy was being discussed withthe TAPI member states by TPCL (TAPI Pipeline Company Limited), andaffirmed that all the matters related to the project, including thefinancing and security of the pipeline, are being diligently worked out toensure the smooth and timely completion of the project.
