ISLAMABAD – State Bank of Pakistan makes important announcement over freshcurrency notes on Eid ul Fitr.The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Mondayannounced that fresh currency notes will not be issued on Eid-ul-Fitr thisyear amid coronavirus pandemic.
A notification issued by the central bank says, it has been “decided not toissue fresh notes to general public and employees/ex-employees of SBP andits subsidiaries on occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr 2020”.
“As you are aware the Bank’s management has taken multiple precautionarymeasures to ensure social distancing and mitigate the spread of COVID-19.These include but are not limited to performing of only essential/criticalfunctions, making comprehensive Work from Home (WFH) arrangements, ensuringworkplace SPOs, issuance of medical advisories, etc,” read the officialnotificaition.
