KABUL – Atleast five militants affiliated with the Islamic State of Iraqand Syria (ISIS) terrorist group were killed during the airstrikes of theUS forces in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan.

The local officials are saying that the militants were killed during theairstrikes conducted over the past 24 hours in this province.

The officials further add that some heavy and light weapons belonging tothe terror group have also been destroyed during the airstrikes.

The provincial government media office in a statement confirmed Thursdaythat the US forces carried out airstrikes using unmanned aerial vehicles inHaska Mina district.

The source further added that five ISIS militants were killed and someweapons, including heavy and light weapons, were destroyed during theairstrikes.

The anti-government armed militant groups including ISIS militants have notcommented regarding the report so far.

This comes as ground operations as well as airstrikes are being conductedon regular basis in this province to suppress the ISIS and other militants.
