Indian Army mulls options on strike against Pakistan

NEW DELHI: The Indian Army is considering a range of options to effectively retaliate against the brutal beheading of its two soldiers by a Pakistani border action team (BAT), even as the force strengthens its counter-infiltration grid along the Line of Control and conducts “major combing operations” to hunt for terrorists in south Kashmir.

The Army has already cranked up the pressure on the forward positions of the Pakistan Army , along the 778-km LoC, with concentrated mortar shelling, sniping and other operations.

But the response to the beheading incident in the Krishna Gjati sector on May 1, which is the third such mutilation incident since the “surgical strikes” against terror launch pads in Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir on September 29, will take some time in coming after meticulous planning.
