LAHORE – The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore hasbeen ranked among 201-300 universities in the overall 2019 Times HigherEducation (THE) University Impact Rankings, based on the United NationsSustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Among the Pakistani universities, the UVAS has been ranked among top fouruniversities with 53.7-64.5 points, sharing the second position with theUniversity of Agriculture Faisalabad and Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute ofEngineering Sciences and Technology.
In individual SDGs, the UVAS has been ranked among 101-200 in each qualityeducation, gender equality and decent work and economic growth, 65, 85 and91 in climate action, good health and well-being and reduced inequalitiesSDGs, respectively.
This is the first-ever 2019 UVAS Impact Rankings, a pioneering initiativeto recognise universities across the world for their social and economicimpact.THE University Impact Rankings are the only global performance tables thatasses universities against the SDGs.
The uses carefully calibrated indicators to provide comprehensive andbalanced comparisons across three broad areas: research, outreach andstewardship.UVAS Impact Rankings shows how the global higher education sector isworking towards the United Nations SDGs.
