Why PSL 6 has been postponed?

Pakistan Super League (PSL) season six has been postponed due to risingcases of the COVID-19 among participants.

According to the details, following a meeting with the team owners andconsidering the health and wellbeing of all participants is uppermost, thePCB decided to postpone PSL 6 with immediate effect.

The decision was made after seven covid-19 cases were reported in thecompetition, which had started on 20 February.

It may be recalled that six players and one Staff member were quarantinedafter testing positive for the novel coronavirus.

The PCB had decided to test players after every three days since first caseemerged in the league, whereas option of shifting the Lahore matches toKarachi was also under consideration by the PCB.

Meanwhile, PCB Chief Executive Wasim Khan, Director – Commercial and BabarHamid, will hold a media conference at the National Stadium at 3pm toprovide further updates.

Earlier, Karachi Kings player Dan Christine decided to withdraw from HBLPSL.

Karachi King’s President Wasim Akram was also advised to leave the teamhotel by evening due to rising number of coronavirus cases among players.

The doctors of Wasim Akram advised him to quit from the Pakistan SuperLeague (PSL) as the COVID-19 cases are rising among the players andofficials involved in the league.
