MOSCOW – US intelligence assessment of North Korea’s nuclear ballisticmissile program shows that Pyongyang is further making progress on itsdevelopment, local media reported citing a US administration official.
The report in particular argues that North Korealink>hasbeen improving the guidance of the ballistic missiles allowing Pyongyangto hit specific targets, the CNN broadcaster reported on Friday, Sputnikhas reported.
Some progress has been reportedly made even during the thaw in therelations between South Korea and North Korea, which was achieved thanksto the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang.
North Korea has faced several rounds of sanctions over its nuclear andballistic missile tests, conducted in violation of the UN Security Councillink> resolutions.
On December 22, the UN Security Council unanimously adopted the resolutionfurther tightening sanctions against North Korea over its ballistic missilelaunch conducted on November 29. The US-drafted resolution caps Pyongyang’spetrol imports and expands the ban on goods exports.
