Pakistan Express narrowly escapes a disaster in Karachi

KARACHI – Pakistan Railways has escaped a disaster as its main passengertrain Pakistan Express narrowly escaped an accident on Sunday in Karachiafter residents alerted the train to a broken railway track.

The ragged railway track near Malir Kala Board stop had broken due to themovement of several trains. By waving a red cloth, locals alerted thedriver thus averting the tragedy.

The driver responded promptly and stopped the train and the large number ofpassengers travelling in the train were saved from a possible accident.

Railway authorities reached the scene to repair the broken track and laterdirected Pakistan Express towards its destination.

According to authorities, the breakage of fish plate had occurredaccidentally. Four inches of the railway track had broken down while threebolts had sprung out.
