TEHRAN – Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs yesterday held thescreening of an 80-minute long movie on the freedom struggle of Kashmirisin Mashhad city of neighbouring Islamic country.
The movie screening was held in connection with the Kashmir Solidarity Daybeing observed by the Pakistani government to highlight the issues of humanrights violations in the Occupied Kashmir by the Indian occupational forcesto suppress the voice of Kashmiris for self-determination.
Despite aggressive resistance from the Indian side to stop the screening ofthe movie from Mashhad and Tehran, the event was still held successfullywith the support of the Iranian government.
Today (Sunday), a public holiday is being observed to mark‘Youm-e-Yakhjehti-e-Kashmir’ (Solidarity with Kashmir Day) across Pakistan.
All government, semi-government and private offices will remain closed.
The people of Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK) will mark the occasion by forming ahuman chain of hands to show their support for their brothers and sistersacross the border.
Conferences, demonstrations and events related to the day are being plannedin cities across the country, which will shed light on the atrocitiescommitted by Indian troops to sabotage the Kashmiri struggle for freedomover the past seven decades.
