Youm e Taqqaddus observed in Indian Occupied Kashmir

SRINAGAR – In occupied Kashmir, Youm-e-Taqaddus was observed, on Friday, toreaffirm the Kashmiris’ determination that the sanctity of religiouscentres of the territory would be preserved by all means.

Call for the observance of the day was given by the Joint ResistanceLeadership in the backdrop of the desecration of Jamia Masjid Srinagar lastFriday.

A large number of people from all walks of life including political,religious, social and trade leaders attended a mammoth gathering held atthe Jamia Masjid in connection with the Youm-e-Taqaddus.

They condemned the attempts to desecrate the Grand Mosque, saying that suchactions were intolerable.

The speakers denounced the efforts of linking the Kashmir movement with theworld terror outfits.

The speakers emphasized that the Jamia Masjid Srinagar has been a symbol ofthe Kashmiris’ aspirations and an epicenter of the activities against theIndian occupation.

Meanwhile, thousands of people, today, participated in the funeral prayersof the three martyred youth in their native Chursoo and Laribal areas inPulwama district.

Indian troops had martyred the youth during a cordon and search operationat Gulshan Pora in Tral area of the district, yesterday.

Complete shutdown was observed in Tral, Awantipora and other areas of thedistrict to mourn the martyrdom of the youth.

Hurriyat leaders and organizations in their statements paid glowingtributes to the martyred youth.

The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Freedom Movement, Muhammad Sharif Sartaj,in a statement in Jammu appealed to international human rightsorganizations to take cognizance of the killings and other human rightsviolations by Indian troops in occupied Kashmir.
