MUZAFFARABAD: President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Sardar Muhammad Masood Khan has expressed serious concern over the deteriorating human rights situation in Indian Held Kashmir (IHK) has demanded the United Nations (UN) to intervene in the matter and safe the innocent lives in the bleeding Valley.
In a statement issued by his office here Thursday, the President AJK recalled that 20 youths had been killed by Indian troops alone in Tarral, a small town of IHK during the last month while four young men were shot dead by the forces of Wednesday during a protest against the previous killings.
He said dozens of young people and children had been injured or lost their eye sight due to use of pellet guns by the Indian troops which should be taken serious by the international community and human rights organizations for the sake of humanity.
He said all the means of international communications including Internet services had been band in the Valley besides besieges of the areas in Taral and other town while wearing Pheron, a traditional overcoat had also been band in the valley violating all the basic rights of the citizens. He said hardships of the children in the Valley could be gauged with the fact that minors are not safe even in the arms of their mothers, a daring example of which was a 18 months old Hiba Nisar who had been injured hitting with pellet in the arms of her mother.
Quoting another incident in Jammu, Masood said few months earlier, a 8 year old Asifa Bano was gang raped and killed in Jammu which proves that the children had been killed to genocide the Muslims in Kashmir while educated youths were also been targeted.
Referring the martyrdom of a scholar Dr. Abdul Manan in the Valley, the President said India was proceeding on a well planned strategy to genocide the Muslims in Kashmir and if this plan continues without any notice by the international world, a human tragedy could occur in the Kashmir. He said under the international law, it was binding on India to protect the lives of children, women and unarmed young people but she had been violating all international laws and norms, therefore, he said UN Secretary General must intervene and stop India from genocide of the people in Kashmir.
He said if United States could initiate dialogue with Taliban for bringing peace in Afghanistan after 18 years of war then why not India can choose the same way to bring peace and harmony in the region? as the dialogue was the only way to improve the deteriorating situation of held Kashmir.
