LAHORE – An accountability court on Friday extended judicial remand offormer Lahore DevelopmentAuthority (LDA) director general Ahad Cheema for another13 days in assets-beyond-means case.Accountability Court Judge Syed Najamul Hassan conductedthe case proceedings, wherein Ahad Cheema was also produced.The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) officials apprised the court thata supplementary reference against Ahad Cheema would be filed soon inconnection with the case.To which, Advocate Amjad Pervez, on behalf of Ahad Cheema,requested for postponing indictment till filing of the supplementaryreference.At this, the court adjourned further hearing till January 17 and directedNAB for filing the supplementaryreference, besides extending judicial remand of Ahad Cheema.It is pertinent to mention that NAB had already filed a reference againstAhad Cheema in connection withassets-beyond-means case and a copy of the reference had beenprovided to the accused on the previous hearing.In the reference, NAB had claimed that former LDA DGpossessed assets more than his known sources of income.
