Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court has issued an order for the release of PTI (Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf) local leader Irfan Salim, who was arrested under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioner Peshawar.
According to details, the hearing of the case of PTI's local leader took place in the Peshawar High Court under the leadership of Chief Justice Justice Mohammad Ibrahim. During the hearing, Deputy Commissioner Peshawar appeared in court, and the Chief Justice inquired why the petitioner was arrested despite court orders.
He asked whether the DC and the police were so powerful that they did not comply with court orders. The Deputy Commissioner informed the court that they were not aware of the court's orders and that Irfan Salim was arrested due to concerns about the deteriorating law and order situation involving the police.
The Chief Justice, expressing his displeasure, remarked that if court orders are not followed, then there is no right for us to sit on the chair. The Deputy Commissioner also discarded the court orders in a basket.
The Peshawar High Court has ordered the release of PTI leader Irfan Salim while adjourning the case involving the Chief Secretary and the Inspector General of Police.
