President Dr Arif Alvi has congratulated the newly elected office bearers of Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors and expressed the hope that they will work for the development of responsible journalism, freedom of expression, and dissemination of information to the general public.
In a statement, he expressed the confidence that Government-Media relations will improve further during the tenure of the newly elected leadership of CPNE.
Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan has congratulated the newly elected office bearers of Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors and expressed his hope that they will work for development of responsible journalism in the country.
Prime Minister's Special Assistant on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, in a statement, has also congratulated newly elected office bearers of the CPNE.
She said government believes in independence of media and will extend every possible assistance to ensure freedom of expression in the country.
