The ongoing Senate Election 2021 witnessed a dispute after Member of National Assembly (MNA) and polling agent Ali Gohar raised objection over the ongoing voting process for Senate elections.
According to the details, the Ali Gohar said that the electoral staff members are not honestly performing their duties as they are making different excuses to check the votes.
He said that the ongoing polling process in upper house of the Parliament is suspicious. Ali Gohar further said that Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has been informed about the concerns.
Meanwhile, Imran Khan, the Prime Minister also casted his vote and left the National Assembly shortly after. Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja visited the National Assembly Hall to review the polling process.
Let it be known that the lawmakers are voting for 37 vacant seats of the Senate as 11 Senators from the Punjab have been elected unopposed.
Two senators will be elected from the federal capital, eleven from Sindh and twelve from Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Fifty-two senators in the house of 100 are set to retire on the 11th of this month after completing their six-year term.
