ISLAMABAD-In occupied Kashmir, the veteran Hurriyat leader, Syed Ali Gilani, eulogizing the services of martyred popular youth leader, Burhan Wani, in the ongoing freedom struggle, has said that he would continue to be remembered as a great soldier in the caravan of martyrs of the territory.
Syed Ali Gilani in a tweet, today (Friday), said that Burhan-like brave youth of Kashmir would continue to give a befitting reply to the Indian aggression.
Reiterating the Kashmiris’ resolve to take the liberation movement to its logical conclusion, the veteran Hurriyat leader said that the destination of the martyrs’ caravan was the pleasure of Allah through His support and help to the oppressed people of Kashmir.
The tweet of Syed Ali Gilani appeared in the context of the martyrdom anniversary of Burhan Wani, who was killed by Indian troops in a fake encounter on 8th July in 2016. Burhan Wani’s extrajudicial killing had triggered mass uprising in the occupied territory.
Meanwhile, a protest sit-in organized by International Forum for Justice and Human Rights was held in Muzaffarabad today against the brutal killing of the civilian, Bashir Ahmed Khan, by Indian troops in Sopore town of occupied Kashmir.
On the other hand, panelists at a webinar titled ‘Combating violence against women’ organized at the sidelines of the ongoing session of UN Human Rights Council in Geneva has highlighted the alarming increase in violence against women in occupied Kashmir.
They said the rising tide of violence against women in Kashmir warrants urgent attention and action by the international community to combat the menace.
