In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops launched violent cordon and search operations in Shopian, Islamabad, Pulwama and Kupwara districts, today (Tuesday).
According to Kashmir Media Service, the troops launched the operations in Nildoora Imam Sahib, Genashpora, Daragad Mohalla, Kakapora and Hangah Handwara in south and north districts of the occupied territory.
The troops sealed all entry and exit points and conducted house-to-house search operations in the areas.
Hurriyat leader Mukhtar Ahmad Waza in a statement issued in Srinagar appealed to the UN Human Rights Council, world powers and international human rights organizations to take notice of the unabated gross human rights violations by India in occupied Kashmir.

The IFJ termed the arrest as yet another attempt to muzzle the freedom of press in occupied Kashmir. The editor of Daily Afaaq, Ghulam Jeelani Qadri, was recently arrested from his house by Indian police in connection with a case dating back to 1992.
